Creative Team Kits

So I have gotten back into some scrapping and joined another creative team.  I miss scrapping and this forces me to scrap.  I've spent too much time designing and I've forgotten to preserve my memories!  I just recently ordered 2 more books from Winkflash so now I'm only a year behind on my kids' books!  My goal is to be able to order at least one more book by the time they have their flat rate book sale!  I know this is late but I have a great kit to show you from Gettin Scrappy with Britt.  It's called Snowfall and you can get it free with a $5 order at Stuff to Scrap until tomorrow night.  Go shopping!  What are you waiting for???
I made this layout for a speed scrap at STS.
I rejoined Digi Designs by Nicole's CT and she has a fabulous kit out called Sweet Spring.  The colors are so soft and pretty-perfect for all those freshly blooming flowers or Easter pictures.  You could even scrap baby photos with this kit.
Pretty, huh?  I made this layout for a speed scrap at STS as well.
Flutterbye Faery Designs is retiring from designing as of April 13th so her store (as well as the rest of Brownie Scraps) is on sale for 60% off until April 13th.  I got to work with All Girl which is such a pretty kit and very girly but it's not just pinks!  I loved this kit when I saw it but didn't have a chance to work with it so I made sure to grab it before it was gone!
I made a 2 page layout showing my daughter's first tea party.
I'll have more kits to show you soon!

Digi Scrapping With Clusters

Bren here to bring you some tips on Digi Scrapping With Clusters.I absolutely love scrapping with clusters. I love to use all the pretty flowers, buttons, and ribbons to make beautiful clusters. Here are a few tip for scrapping with clusters...
1. Vary the size and rotation of the elements you’re clustering
2. Elements closer to the bottom layers will cast smaller shadows than those on the top of the clusters
3. Resize elements, use them 2 or 3 (or more) times, hide parts under others, just go nuts until the cluster is as big and as full as you like
4. You want to place elements so that they are behind or “peeking” out from behind other elements and not always just adding them to the top

Now you should have some basic information that will help you create a nice element cluster.  You can always start small and work your way into some more advanced elaborate clusters.  Just remember,  Variety in shape, size and position of the layer are the key to creating a great clustered layout. Here are some basic elements that can be used for clustering:

1.  Ribbon
2.  String
3.  Bows
4.  Scatter
5.  Variety in the elements (size, color, texture, shape) – buttons, flair, flowers, stars, leaves, swirls, word art strips, date tags and stitching, just to name a few

Here are just a few examples of some beautiful layouts designed using B2N2 kits and clusters...

Gallery Standouts

When I am light on inspiration or scrapping mojo, the first thing I always do is jump over to the gallery and look at other layouts.  So many beautiful ones to look at, so much inspiration, and it never fails to put lots of ideas in my head.  I happily spent some time in the B2N2 Scraps galleries yesterday to find some inspirational layouts.  Look what I found:

I love this happy layout from cylynn using Turtley Cute.  By the way, all the LOs are linked to the gallery, so go leave some love!

And this layout from rbthl completely made me laugh out loud.  What a great grandpa to let you take that picture!  She used Dress Up Time, a collaboration from B2N2 Scraps and Gettin' Scrappy with Britt (one of my favorite kits by the way!)

And finally, this one from tinkay2 gives me a GREAT idea for a layout.  I LOVE all the stacked papers and the "10 facts' idea is wonderful.  She used "Love is..." to make this great page.

Have you made a great page with a B2N2 Scraps kit?  Make sure you upload it to the gallery at Stuff to Scrap or Brownie Scraps so we can see it!  Who knows, you might be in my next Gallery Standouts post!

Have a great weekend!

Monkey See, Monkey Do

You may have seen this kit before but now I'm releasing Monkey See, Monkey Do at Stuff to Scrap!  I just love this kit-the colors, the cute sock monkeys and all the elements and papers.  This kit is a collab between myself and Flutterbye Faery Designs.
This time we have a set of clusters, a set of paper stacks, a set of quick pages and a bundle!  All of them (minus the bundle), will be on sale for 30% off for one week.

Want to see what my creative team has done with this kit?  They have some amazing layouts!  This first one is by Ann.  I am just in love with these circle scallops on the bottom of the layout!  This has become quite a trend and I am going to have to try it!
Next up is a layout by Daphne.  I love the big photo with the angled papers on the side.  And that cluster with the same flowers and the frame underneath is just awesome!
Take a look at this layout by Thao.  I LOVE the title with both of the fonts that are included in the kit!  Such a cute combination.  I also love the banner stretched across the photos.
This layout by Stephanie is just adorable!  I love the border cluster on the left side with the curved paper and the elements poking out!
I have a guest CT member this month, Cynthia.  Here's her layout.  I like the split background with the brown borders around it.
I'll be back on Sunday with more layouts!  I have a freebie for you with this kit to give you a little enticement.  This freebie was made by Kim.  Click on the picture to download.

Photoshop Shortcuts

When working in Photoshop, there are many shortcuts that you can use to get scrap booking done in a flash. CTRL+Z is a great shortcut in Photoshop. Accidently clipped a paper over your photo layer? CTRL+Z to the rescue! Resized an element and made it too small? CTRL+Z can fix that! There are many more shortcuts than CTRL+Z (undo) though. Photoshop shortcuts can be a key part of a digital scrapbooker’s tool box. Shortcuts will be different in Photoshop Elements than in Photoshop and the way one scrapper works in their scrapbooking software may be quite different than another scrapper, so the shortcuts each would need will be quite different. Perhaps the easiest way to identify useful shortcuts for you is to pay attention to the menu listings. The shortcut will be beside most action items. Most software programs will let you set custom shortcuts and Photoshop is no exception. There are many great tutorials out there such as this one on How to Customize Photoshop Shortcuts. Here is a handy Shortcut Chart for Photoshop that will give you the most common shortcuts....

$2 Tuesday

It's been a while since I've put anything in the $2 Tuesday bin!  It's going to become a regular feature again.  You can always suggest $2 kits on my FB fan page!

This week's feature is Monsters All Around.  I just love this kit because my kids can be such little monsters some time and still be cute as ever.  These little monsters in the kit are so cute too!  You can scrap both your girl monsters and boy monsters with this kit!
The Quick Pages are on sale for $2 today as well!
I put the add on on sale for just $1 today!  Wow!  What a great deal!

And now for a challenge!  I hope you will join me!  All you have to do is use Monsters All Around and make a layout using at least 5 papers and at least 1 little monster on the page.  Everyone who participates will be in a drawing for a coupon to my store!  Post a link to the layout in the comment section or post the layout on my Facebook Fan wall.  All entries must be received by March 26th at 6 pm CST.

Need some layout inspiration?  Kim went looking through the B2N2 Scraps gallery at STS and found some great layouts using this kit!
