Come on Ride the Train!

It's Stuff to Scrap's forum blog train time again! Woo hoo! This time you are collected pieces of a giant kit called "Spring Picnic." I just love the colors of this train! This is only my 3rd kit, so hopefully you like it and can use it. I'd love to hear comments! Here's a preview of my portion of this train.

Brownie Olympics

I believe we are now finished with all the events for the Brownie Olympics. I barely finished my layout for event 5! We're leaving on a trip and I just didn't have time. This event was to use things that tie as much as possible. Here's the layout that I came up with. I used Scrapalicious Cereal's kit called In His Pockets. I thought the colors were perfect with the photos.

Right now the voting isn't open yet but it will be soon. Go to HERE and look for Round 5 voting. Round 4 voting is in it's final round and again my team is in the gold/silver match. We lost the last one my 1 vote! Please go vote for me HERE. I'll have a freebie if my team wins a gold medal!

Another new kit from Amanda Carlson

I'm nearing the end of my guest CT stint for Amanda Carlson. She has a beautiful new kit out at Elemental Scraps today. It's called Spring Thing and it has gorgeous soft colors. Here's a preview of the kit.
Here's a layout of my daughter that I made using this kit. If my sister would send me her Easter picture of her daughter, I would make a page using that picture since this kit would go very well with her dress! I just love these pictures of my daughter!

On this layout I also used Amanda Carlson's Flower Bunches because they went so well with this kit. Aren't these flowers fun?

Speed Scrap Alert and Brownie Olympics

Stuff to Scrap is having a speed scrap tomorrow. I may actually be able to attend this one! Yipee! My husband has spring break this week so he'll be able to watch the kiddos. Here are the details and the participation prize.

I've been participating in the Brownie Olympics at Brownie Scraps. This has been keeping me busy. I had no idea that there would be so little time in between events (actually there is NO time in between events, they overlap!). I guess that's how Olympians feel! Each event is a different challenge. Event 1 was "Cluster It" meaning to make a layout with fabulous clustering. Here's my layout. I used Flower Funk, a collab kit with Manda's Scrappin Creations and Rainamoon Designs. My team got the bronze medal in this event.
The second event was using paper in a unique way. I decided to use very small paper strips and repeat them all over the layout. I used Whistle While You Work by Laurie's Scraps. My team got the silver medal in this event. My layout was actually tied for 3rd place in number of votes!
The third event was to make a layout using no traditional shapes-no squares, rectangles, circles or stars. So I did elongated triangles for paper strips and a splatter as a photo mask. I really love how this turned out. I used A Little Fishy by Scraps by Andrea (which is a freebie right now at Stuff to Scrap for their color challenge). The voting is going on right now for this event! My team is up for the gold medal. You can vote HERE. I would love it if you would vote for me!
The fourth event was to make a layout just using the colors green and blue. Luckily Marni Designs had just created a blue and green kit called Little Boy Blue. It worked so perfectly with these pictures of my son. I absolutely love this layout. You can vote HERE. I may have a freebie available if my team wins a gold medal!!
The fifth event is to create a layout using at least 4 elements that tie. I haven't created my layout for this one yet. I have until the 30th. Maybe I'll work on it today. Please go vote for me!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sales!

Designs by Sweet Mesquite is closing her store at Stuff to Scrap at the end of March. Everything in her store is 40% off! What a great deal. Check out the flier.

Here's a layout that I made with her Playtime Boy kit which is a collab with Designs by Hazel. I used a template from Designs by Sweet Mesquite's Stripped Away Template pack. This pack isn't in her store at Digital Scrap Ink (neither is All Clustered Up), so you better head over to her store and get it on sale!

Designs by Sweet Mesquite is looking for an advertiser. Check out this flier and contact Beth if you are interested.

Stuff to Scrap is having a sale too! Check out the flier for details.

Quick post and freebie Quick Page

We've come to the last day of freebies for Shel Belle Scraps' new kit Spring Fun. Hopefully you remembered to stop by her blog every day to pick up the pieces of this super fun kit. If not, that's OK the kit will soon be in her store at Stuff to Scrap. Today is the day you get all the freebie QPs. Here's the preview of mine.

Another new kit!

It's like new release central over here! The designers have been keeping me busy. Marni Designs has a brand new kit out today called Flock Together which is a collab with Brandy Designs. This kit has soft pretty colors and is very girly and feminine. It would be a challenge for me to make a boy layout with this kit! But it worked perfectly for pictures of my daughter and my niece. Here's a preview of the kit. Isn't it gorgeous?

Here are a couple layouts that I made using this beautiful kit. I have to say that clustering was so easy with this kit. The elements just go together so well! This first layout is one of my niece. Isn't she cute? My niece is older than my babies (who really aren't babies anymore) so this picture was taken a while ago.

Head on over to Brownie Scraps soon to pick up this kit because it's on sale right now! It's 20% off!

New kit from Designs by Sweet Mesquite, a Sneak Peek and a Reminder

Beth, Designs by Sweet Mesquite, has her very first kit in stores! It's a collab with Designs by Hazel and the kit is called "Playtime Boy." You can pick it up at either Stuff to Scrap or Digital Scrap Ink. Here's what the kit looks like. It's perfect for boy pictures!

Beth also has great template sets in her stores. I love working with her templates. I decided to use a template from her set called "Stripped Away" to show off this fun kit that she made. Here's what the template looks like.

And finally here's my layout. My son's outfit matched the plaid paper almost perfectly from this kit! It was meant to be! Marni Designs has a brand new kit out tomorrow called "Flock Together." It's a collab with Brandy Designs. I've been showing you so many boy kits lately and this one definitely is NOT a boy kit. Here's a sneak peek.

Don't forget to head over to Shel Belle Scraps' blog today (after noon CST) to get the elements for Spring Fun.

Upcoming Speed Scraps Alert

Stuff to Scrap has 2 speed scraps coming up. One is tonight, the other is on the 25th. I don't think I'm going to be able to make tonight's because it doesn't start until 9 pm my time and I need to go to bed early because my babies got up early this morning! Here are the details for the speed scraps and their participation prizes.

I wanted to share 2 more layouts with you that I made during speed scraps. You really can get great layouts if you participating in speed scraps and everyone's layouts always turn out so differently even when following the same instructions! This first one uses Scrappin Serenity's Tuff N Tiny. The Speed Scrap called for stitches (I think) and so I used stitches from Gunhild Storeide. The second layout has tons of credits. This was my first or second speed scrap and I didn't go into it knowing what kit and pictures I wanted to use so I used papers and elements from a variety of sources. Here are all the credits: Kits used: Happy Go Lucky by Digi Scrapz by Christi, Speechless by Stash Happy Designs, Clown for a Day by Mommy Me Time Scrapper, Bright Spot by Pretty Pixel Designs, You Rock by Charm City Scraps and torn paper edge by The Scrappin' Cop.

Two New Releases

The Scrappy Kat and Shel Belle Scraps have brand new kits out today! I'll show you The Scrappy Kat's kit first.

The Scrappy Kat and Digi Designs by Nicole teamed up to make a great kit called "Hippie Chick." It's very retro and fun! The colors are so rich. Here's a preview of the kit. Doesn't it look like fun? You can get it here.

Here's a layout that I made using this kit. My sister bought us a crawling tunnel at a garage sale and my kids love to crawl through it and play peek a boo with each other through it. Even though this kit is called "Hippie Chick," there's no reason you can't scrap boys with this kit too!

I made a freebie QP for you. Here's the preview of the QP. I didn't have a picture that fit in this layout, so I don't have a layout with a picture to show you. I just loved this brown/blue flower paper that I just had to use it! The download link will be at the end of this post. I want to make sure you read the rest of this post! :) ***Sorry, link epxired***

Now onto the new kit by Shel Belle. Shel Belle Scraps and SAHM Scrapper got together to make an awesome, bright and fun kit called "Spring Fun." The colors are so much fun! I just love the bright purplish/pink color! Here's a preview of the kit (Shel Belle's portion).

What's another great thing about this kit is that you can get it for free. You can pick up the papers on the 22nd, the elements on the 23rd, the alpha on the 24th and the QPs on the 25th. You have to stop by Shel Belle's Scraps' blog and SAHM Scrapper's blog each day because their links will only be active for 24 hours!

Here are two layouts that I made using this kit. The first one is using a template from Designs by Sweet Mesquite from her All Clustered Up pack. The second one I made into a QP for you. But you can't get it today. You have to wait!

Early Spring (not here!)

As I mentioned earlier I am on the Quick Page Team at Digital Scrap Cafe. What that means is I offer 2 free quick pages a month using kits from the designers at Digital Scrap Cafe. I also get to work with the montly collab and make 2 quick pages. I don't offer those for free though. In order to get the quick pages the team made, all you have to do is spend $10 and you'll get them for free!! Here is a preview of the collab called Early Spring. We had snow today and such slushy gross weather. I could go for some spring right now! Back to the kit! This kit has such gorgeous colors! You don't have to buy this collab to get the quick pages for free, but why not grab it?

Isn't it pretty?? Here is the preview of the QPs that you get free when you spend $10! The first two are the ones that I made.

Here's another layout that I made using the kit. It was for the Scraplift challenge at Digital Scrap Cafe.

Tomorrow I have 2 releases to share with you. I'm so excited because they are so much fun! Don't forget to stop by tomorrow night.

Ads, Ads and More Ads (and some Layouts!)

Well glad to know my mom reads my blog everyday! My sister didn't even comment on my last post, so maybe she didn't read it!

Stuff to Scrap is having a Spring Cleanup sale starting tomorrow. That means that you save BIG! Check out this ad for all the details.

Stuff to Scrap has a fan page on Facebook (who isn't on Facebook these days?) and they are having a game starting today. If you play it and figure out the riddle, you have a chance to win a free kit. Here are the details.

I was going to post about the Brownie Addicts club for April but I can't get into their website right now to grab the ad! Every month Brownie Scraps gives away a freebie over the course of the month. You have to visit every day and each day you get the daily byte. If you become ad addict, you can get all the bytes on the first of the month, plus speed scraps, coupons, access to the addicts forum and more! If you buy April Addicts before the beginning of April, it is only $6 but if you wait until after April, the cost goes up to $9. Either way it's a great deal! Marni Designs is cohosting this month's Addict Club along with Scrappin Daisies. Can't wait to see what she has in store! Yay, I found the ad on someone else's blog! So here are all the details.

Now onto my layouts of my favorite people who decided to nap twice today! Yay! I'm not quite so exhausted! This first layout was made for the Mini Kit challenge at Brownie Scraps (I honestly can't remember their name for it!). Marni Designs designed this kit called "A Bright Day." You download the kit for free and you have to use ALL the pieces of the kit! This is what I came up with.

This second layout was made for last month's color challenge. The hostess of the challenge posts a color palette and you can either make a mini kit or a layout. I hadn't really designed by that point so I did a layout with a kit from Tyger Tidbites called Blossom.

Thanks for stopping by!

I Better Blog

...or else my sister might wonder what happened to me. I'm glad to know that someone reads my blog everyday. I should give away a freebie to people who post a comment on random blog posts that don't contain a freebie. I don't have a freebie to give away right now, so don't expect to get one. I really want to make another mini kit but I need a good theme and color palette!

I don't have any advertising to do today, so I'm just going to share some layouts that I've made recently. This first one I made at the speed scrap last night at Stuff to Scrap. The first instruction threw me for a loop and I wasn't sure I was going to participate. The first instruction was to pick two photos having to do with luck or pick 1 photo and make the other photo a close up of the first one. I'm not a St. Patrick's Day fan. I'm not Irish and I don't celebtrate it, so all this green stuff out right now is not my cup of tea! So I was turned off but then I realized luck doesn't have to be about St. Patrick's Day or a four leaf clover. I'm lucky to have my babies. My babies are lucky to have each other. So I made a page about them being lucky to have a twin. I've been wanting to scrap these pictures for a long time. The big one is perhaps my favorite picture of them. I used the Shabby Princess's kits Festival and Promise. I call this "Lucky to Have a Twin." We're just entering that stage where I can see why there are benefits to having 2 babies at once! (Although I am now seeing disadvantages too but that's another story).

Here's a layout I made a while back at a speed scrap. At least I think I made it at a speed scrap! The papers and some elements are from the same kit, Happy Chappy by Enjoy Life Designs but then I had to break into other kits to follow the instructions for the speed scrap. Here are the other credits: White paper from Beautiful You by Digi Designs by Nicole, Buttons from Lil' Stinker by Sweet Digi Scraps, Ribbon by The Scrappin Cop, Flower from Boy Joy by Jamie Dell Scraps and Staples by Gunhild. Now I try to find kits for speed scraps that have everything I need in them because it's hard to search my stash and have a time limit!

Here's another layout that I did at a speed scrap hosted my one of my designers that I "work" for. It was hosted by Beth, Designs by Sweet Mesquite. I love these pictures of my daughter because she is so silly! For some reason she reminded me of a spider monkey in these pictures (don't ask me why). The kit is Out My Window by Maurine Stettler and the alpha is from Gunhild Storeide.

Now I should have just called my post "Speed Scraps Galore" because those are all the layouts I'm sharing! But that wouldn't have been creative! Here's another speed scrap layout. I bet you're wondering how many speed scraps I participate in. Well, I try to do them at Stuff to Scrap whenever they have one and I'm available. I've also participated in a couple at Brownie Scraps but they don't have them as often as Stuff to Scrap. Stuff to Scrap has a speed scrap twice a week it seems. This layout was made on the day that my heat went out. It was really cold too! Luckily my father in law was able to come over and fix it for us! The kit is Choose the Right by SAHM Scrapper and Scraps N Pieces. The frame is from Gunhild Storeide.

I was going to post 2 more speed scrap layouts but then I decided this was enough for today! I'll shared the other ones another day. Off to change the laundry and get some CT work done. There are 2 new kits releasing on Monday that I have layouts to show off for. Thanks for stopping in. I'll try to come up with a freebie to offer people who comment on random blog posts!
